# How to use the Data Onboarding Portal

The Data Onboarding Portal lets your suppliers fill in product data in a portal carrying your brand, with every change reviewed in Struct PIM.

### What is the Data Onboarding Portal?

The Data Onboarding Portal is a separate, branded website where your suppliers sign in and fill in product data for you. You decide which products each supplier sees and which attributes they are asked for. What they submit arrives in Struct PIM as drafts that you review and merge, unless you have chosen to trust a field to merge directly.

Read [Supplier data onboarding](/fundamental-concepts/supplier-data-onboarding.md) for an overview of how areas, submission templates, data suppliers and drafts fit together.

The Data Onboarding Portal is set up under **Settings > Data onboarding**, which requires the **Manage data onboarding** permission.

### Guide for your suppliers

The [Supplier portal guide](/tutorials/supplier-portal-guide.md) explains the portal from the supplier's side. It never mentions Struct, so you can send your suppliers the link, or copy it into your own documentation and add your brand.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.struct.com/tutorials/guides/how-to-use-the-data-onboarding-portal.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
